PresUniv Holds Hybrid Learning Strategy Webinar to Help Lecturers and Students Adapt During The Covid-19 Pandemic
Wednesday (16/6), President University (PresUniv) held a webinar entitled "Strategi dan Pendekatan Pembelajaran Hybrid". This webinar aims to help lecturers and students adapt to the hybrid learning system that PresUniv has implemented for several weeks during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The speakers in this webinar were the Rector of PresUniv, Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto, and Prof. Dr. Uman Suherman AS., M. Pd. as Head of LLDikti Region 4, West Java.
Jony explained that the hybrid learning system has several challenges faced by both lecturers and students, also the readiness of the facilities and infrastructure. Therefore, before implementing a hybrid learning system, PresUniv has prepared many things, including anticipating problems that will arise. “We prepare video learning that can be accessed regularly. Then for the offline students, we apply stringent health protocols," he explained. For example, students who attend the class are limited to only 30%. The classroom windows must also be open for fresh air circulation. Unfortunately, now due to the continuous increase in Covid-19 cases, from the end of June 2021, PresUniv has to implement back the online learning system and work from home for its entire staff.
Uman revealed that hybrid learning is the answer for lecturers and students who are tired of studying online. "It is worth a try, but it has to be done with strict health protocols," he said. Prof. Uman hopes that the effectiveness of hybrid learning can be further improved. For instance, through the synergy between lecturers, students, parents, the community, and the government.
